Why Classifi exists
Classifi was founded by a former Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD) state auditor who spent years conducting employer classification audits. The same audits that cost businesses tens of thousands in back-taxes, penalties, and legal fees.
The pattern was always the same: businesses paid contractors outside payroll, kept incomplete records, and had no defensible documentation when the state came knocking. The compliance infrastructure that payroll software provides for W-2 employees simply did not exist for 1099 contractors.
Classifi is that infrastructure. Not a tool that "helps" — a platform that automates classification monitoring, tracks every payment threshold, collects every proof document, and generates compliance packets on demand.
